Apple MacBook Air A2941

Problem DescriptionSymptomsSolutionSource
Stuck in restore mode.
DFU fails.
- DFU revive and restore both fail, possibly with error 19 or 21.

- Screen is working but brightness fluctuates in recovery.

- Loading into startup options will cause a reboot.
- Check for liquid damage around the LCD flex and lid angle sensor flex. In my case, there was not visible liquid damage around the board, it was almost entirely isolated to the LCD flex and lid angle sensor flex.

- The lid angle sensor and LCD are not required for this model to boot into DFU mode. You can attempt a DFU restore with them unplugged to test before considering replacing parts.

- Might also be caused by corrosion on the three capacitors on the right of the uppermost NAND IC.
